Approved Test Laboratories

Approved testing, monitoring and certification center

The Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP runs centers that have been approved by the German building inspection authorities to test, monitor and certify building materials and building designs in Germany and all over Europe.  

Five test laboratories of the Fraunhofer Institute of Building Physics are accredited by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005:

• heating and chimney systems
• building acoustics / einvironmental noise control
• hygric properties and inorganic materials
• emission, environment and hygiene
• thermal characteristics

By being awarded the highest level of accreditation, the "flexible accreditation", the test laboratories are entitled to develop new as well as modify existing test methods.
